    Hello forum,

I want to create a shortcode that gets a custom URL in the blog posts. For this I have created the shortcode [sc name="pdf_url"]. After that I created the personal attribute %%url%%.
In the blog editor, I now want to assign a URL to this shortcode, which will be included in a button on the post page (elementor pro theme).
    [sc name="pdf_url" url="www.google.com"]
Unfortunately the system gives me an error message:
Safari cannot open the page “http://!–%20Shortcode%20is%20missing%20name%20attribute%20–“.
    what am i doing wrong?
Thanks for your support – Elias

    Hi Elias,

    Thanks for using Shortcoder.

When a shortcode is missing the “name” attribute it will print “shortcode is missing name attribute”. I can see the same on your side.

For somereason I guess the “name” attribute is stripped while saving the post? Please use the “shortcoder” block if you are using block editor.

Please share a screenshot of the usage if issue persists.

    Thanks,
    Aakash
