A feed I’ve been using for a long time,
    https://www.nationalreview.com/author/wesley-j-smith/feed/
    is now throwing an error:

RSS Error: A feed could not be found at https://www.nationalreview.com/author/wesley-j-smith/feed/; the status code is 403 and content-type is text/html; charset=UTF-8

I understand that there is something wrong with the feed, but it still validates. Is there a way you could make your plugin more tolerant of a feed like this, which has a few errors?

    Hi @allegator,

The error 403 means that the RSS server is prohibiting/blocked access to the RSS feed.

It could be some configuration issue or a mistake. If possible, please check with the feed owner if there are any specific restrictions placed.

An alternate would be to create a proxy for the RSS feed using feedburner – https://feedburner.google.com/

Enter the RSS feed URL and copy the feedburner URL. That should help resolve this issue.

    Thanks,
    Aakash

    Hi Aakash,

I tried what you suggested and it works! Thank you! (I suspect the feed owner is starting to lock down their content and made an inadvertent change to their security settings for RSS.)

Your plugin is by far the most well thought out, polished and best designed out there. Thank you so much for creating it and thank you for your quick help!

    Hi @allegator,

Glad it worked for you and have a nice day!

    Thanks,
    Aakash
