I was trying to add a light pastel colored background to the WP Socializer buttons area, to make it stand apart from my blog texts. I coded my Template 1 Placement code like this

Interestingly, the background of the buttons area is still white. So what is the right way to do it? 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion. I replaced my HTML code with yours, but the button backgrounds are still white for some reason. My site is at http://www.southseascave.com by the way if you want to check the results out.
