    Hi Aakash,

I’m encountering a "Repository not found on Github !" error on WordPress when trying to manually pull Github data with Git it Write plugin. Is this plugin still being supported by you for the latest WordPress?

    01/10/2021 00:18 - ********** Publishing posts by repository config ID **********
    01/10/2021 00:18 - Working with repository config ID 1
    01/10/2021 00:18 - Creating repository object
    01/10/2021 00:18 - Building repo structure
    01/10/2021 00:18 - Repository not found on Github !
    01/10/2021 00:18 - ********** END **********

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for using the plugin.

Plugin does work on WP 5.6

Can you please share a screenshot of the configuration/ edit page of that repo ?

    Thanks,
    Aakash

I am seeing the same issue, though I haven’t yet updated to 5.6.

Nevermind. Removing @ from github user name appears to have rectified my issue.

Great ! Happy that you are using Git it write !

Is it possible to specify a template from a theme using the YAML metadata?

I believe the page template is stored as metadata of the post.

So you can use _wp_page_template as the custom field.

From the example of the docs – https://www.aakashweb.com/docs/git-it-write/writing-posts/

    title: Title of the post
    menu_order: 1
    post_status: publish
post_excerpt: This is a post excerpt
    taxonomy:
    category:
    – category-slug-1
    – category-slug-2
    post_tag:
    – tag-1
    – tag-2
    custom_fields:
    _wp_page_template: template name

    Hello Aakash,

I tried to use Git it Write to pull md files from Github to WordPress and I think it works fine since the screen didnt show “repository not found on Github” but I couldn’t find md files from Github to WordPress.
    null

    Notes:
    – I use the name of organization instead of user name (because when I use my user name, the screen showed the repository not found)
    – I tried the post type as “posts (public) & pages (hierarchical, public)

Wonder if I miss any steps.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Chroma,

Can you please share a screenshot of the “repository edit settings” page in GIW? I would like to see the repository against your configuration.

Also, if the repository is private, please enter the authentication settings in the GIW main page below the table.

    Thanks,
    Aakash
