Hi, I use this plugin for some time now and suddenly it is not working anymore, only showing this error:
RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds
I have no idea, what the problem could be – there are no big changes on the website besites updates, of course.
What can I do? Thanks for your help.
SopieJune 4, 2019 at 11:44 am #6832Aakash ChakravarthyKeymasterHi Sophie,
Is the RSS URL reachable ?
If yes, the issue could be with your hosting provider where the modules related to cURL might be restricted.Could you please follow the steps in the below link and check if you are able to resolve the issue ?
Thanks,

He wants to know where the cURL request is going – I do not really understand what he wants…. but he says that the plugin devoloper should know this. I also sent him a link to the page you mentioned. But as I said…. its difficult 🙁
Hope you can help.
SophieJune 4, 2019 at 6:41 pm #6834Aakash ChakravarthyKeymasterHi,
Can you please let me know the RSS Feed URL you are trying ?
Can you please use the same URL in WordPress’s default RSS widget ? Does it work there ?
Thanks,
AakashJune 4, 2019 at 6:49 pm #6835Sophieja23ParticipantThe feed url is: https://www.amrum-news.de/feed/
But the default RSS has the same error… and another feed on the same domain on another page is working. Its also integrated with your plugin. I guess the problem ist somewhere else…
Thanks, Sophie
June 4, 2019 at 7:03 pm #6836Aakash ChakravarthyKeymasterYes correct. Issue is in the server itself. That is the reason both default RSS widget and SRR is failing.
Anyways, what is the other RSS URl which is successful ?
Did you try the URL with http or https ?
Is any other part of WordPress affected with this same issue ? Example, wordpress updates page, plugins search page, theme search page etc.. ?
You might have to talk to the host and check if they did change any config.
This is because if Widget was working fine all this time and suddenly it breaks, then some problem with the host or the RSS URL.Thanks,

I guess the hoster will telling me that he needs to know where the cURL is requesting (I don’t know if this is translated the right way. So it goes in circle. But this is not your problem….I thank you for your help.
